SUNBURY -- Temperatures this past weekend were almost as warm as they were on the Fourth of July, and it's 11 days until Christmas!

Mail carriers deliver letters in rain, snow, sleet and hail. But Kevin Parker of Kulpmont wasn't dealing with any of that as he made his rounds in Sunbury.

"18 years I'm carrying and this is the first time in December I'm wearing shorts," Parker said.

In fact, Parker walked most of his mail route instead of driving door to door.

"It's always nice to be outside, so when the weather is good it makes it that much better," Parker said.

The weather climbed above 60 degrees in parts of Northumberland County, and it's less than two weeks before Christmas. People took advantage of the winter warm up at Shikellamy State Park.

Jim Garinger was out for his daily walk.

"Usually I have a coat on, and I don't even have a coat on today. So it's great that way," Garinger said.

People rode their bikes, children played at the playground, and Lynn Necci walked her dog, Maggie.

"It's gorgeous out. I just wish the sun was shining a little bit, then I wouldn't have had to dress so warm," Necci said.

Even though all of the people we spoke with say they enjoy the warm weather, most of them say they still want to see a white Christmas.

"It can snow just for Christmas Eve and then get back to this," Necci said.

"Hopefully we're going to get some snow before Christmas comes. Just enough to cover the ground," Garinger said.

According to Meteorologist Kurt Aaron, we may see a little snow this weekend, but warmer weather should return next week just in time for Christmas.
