SUV Catches Fire in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE -- An SUV burst into flames in Wilkes-Barre Wednesday morning.

The vehicle started smoking on North River Street around 10:30 a.m. The driver pulled over onto a sidewalk and the SUV caught fire soon after.

That burning vehicle was only a few feet from a home with a woman and child inside.

Firefighters got the flames out before it spread to the home in Wilkes-Barre.

The driver was able to get out of the SUV and no one was hurt.
