Kathleen Kane's law license was suspended in September. The senate has been looking in to whether the Scranton native can still function as attorney general.

The senate committee, that found there is sufficient basis for the full senate to remove Kane from office, scheduled a hearing for the afternoon of January 12.

Once again, that hearing will focus on whether someone without a law license can still serve as the state's top law enforcement officer. Two weeks after that hearing, a report will be made to the full senate.

Kane does have the right to provide input at that hearing. Kane insists she's done nothing wrong.

In a Montgomery County courtroom, one of Kane's aides, Patrick Reese, is on trial. Reese is accused of illegally using the state's computer system see who testified before a grand jury investigating his boss.

A judge is hearing the testimony, and will hand down a verdict.

Reese is the former Dunmore Chief of Police. If he is found guilty, he faces six months in jail.
