An Emmy-winning actor and star of the ABC soap opera “All My Children” has died.

David Canary died at the age of 77, ABC News reports.

Canary is best known for playing twins Adam and Stuart on “All My Children” for more than two decades. He won five daytime Emmy awards for his work on the show. He was nominated 11 more times.

He also portrayed the character Candy Canaday on Bonanza in the late ’60s and early ’70s.

The “All My Children” actor died on November 16 of natural causes, according to published reports.

According to his obituary in the Wilton Bulletin, a memorial tribute is being planned.

Newswatch 16’s Scott Schaffer interviewed Canary back in 2007 when he was in our area starring in the state production of “Oliver!” at the Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre.

Co-star Kelly Ripa, who played his daughter on "All My Children," Tweeted her condolences.
