STROUDSBURG -- A former secretary at a church in Stroudsburg is accused of stealing more than half a million dollars while working there.
Police accuse Dawn Stevens, 57, of Reeders of taking that cash over time from St. Luke's Church.
Stevens started working there in July 2005 and was responsible for counting church collections and bank deposits.
The priest at the church started noticing money was missing from deposit bags back in May.
Police tracked the thefts to Stevens and an investigation found she stole over $500,000.
She was charged last week in Monroe County.
