Update: PennDOT officials confirmed the scheduled line painting has been canceled. It is unclear why the project was canceled and there is no word when the work will actually be done.
MOOSIC — PennDOT says to expect delays on Interstate 81 south in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties.
Crews are scheduled to do line painting in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 starting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
While the work is done, PennDOT says Interstate 81 south between the Moosic and Pittston exits will be down to one lane.
That work is expected to wrap up by 6 a.m. Thursday.
