SCRANTON -- Two doctors were charged Tuesday following a raid at Advanced Urgent Care on Mulberry Street in Scranton back in July.

Dr. Rajaa Nebbari, 44, of Scranton and Dr. Chetan Byhadgi, 52, of Milford face charges of Medicaid fraud, conspiracy, theft by deception, and insurance fraud.

The state attorney general's office accuses them of submitting false claims to medical assistance, Medicare programs, and private insurance.

Agents also said the doctors directed unqualified people to write prescriptions for controlled substances.

The two currently own and operated the family urgent care center on Pittston Avenue in Scranton and worked at the facility on Mulberry Street.

We want to clarify that both doctors no longer work at an urgent care facility on Mulberry Street in Scranton, and that they are not affiliated with Advanced Urgent Care.

The doctors once worked at that location when it operated under a different name.
