SCRANTON -- The former police chief of Old Forge will soon walk free.
A Lackawanna County judge decided on Thursday to let Larry Semenza out of prison on bail as he awaits a second trial.
He was convicted in 2013 and sentenced to 18 to 40 months behind bars for having inappropriate contact with a 15-year-old girl. Semenza has served 20 months so far.
Last month, a state appellate court ruled a judge wrongly allowed certain evidence at Semenza's first trial.
County prosecutors plan to appeal that decision.
