SCRANTON -- Cancer survivors and their families gathered Saturday in Scranton to honor and remember those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute held its 23rd annual survivors celebration at McDade Park.

Cancer survivors and their families shared their own experiences with the disease and leaned on each other for support.

"It's a great feeling," said survivor Bob Kopacz. "It makes you want to live your life the way you want to live and live for today because tomorrow might not come. Live for the moment."

The purpose of Saturday's event in Scranton was to help cancer survivors connect with others in the community.
