LYCOMING COUNTY — The Lycoming County Sheriffs Office wants to warn people about a phone scam.
Officials say someone is making calls, pretending to be a county lieutenant or sergeant. The caller says a warrant is out for the person’s arrest, but if they pay a fine, it will go away.
Some residents in Lycoming County have paid the scammer.
Authorities say before you give money over the phone, always call the company that the caller claims to be a part of.
