SCRANTON -- Charges were filed Wednesday against a former correctional officer who is accused of beating up an inmate at the Lackawanna County Prison.
Nicholas Hughes, 23, was charged with assault and harassment
Prosecutors tell us Hughes hit Cloward Grant while he was restrained to a chair at the prison on North Washington Avenue in Scranton in August.
Officials said the inmate from Scranton had a cut over his eye and needed medical attention. He was in prison for a 2013 robbery.
