TUNKHANNOCK -- A soup kitchen in Tunkhannock celebrated the grand opening of its new location Tuesday night.

After serving folks for eight years out of a 1,000 square foot leased building, the owners of Seven Loaves Soup Kitchen purchased a 4,000 square foot building along Warren Street in the borough. Janice and Ed Shaffer first opened the soup kitchen in 2007 and have served more than 94,000 meals to those in need.

"They come in, and I enjoy it. As long as you're helping one person who needs it, it's worth it." said Mary Lou Shaffer, director.

Seven Loaves Soup Kitchen is open Monday through Friday form 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
