WILKES-BARRE — Another water main break hit Luzerne County.  This one didn`t do as much damage as the break in Kingston last month, but it did hit a busy section of downtown Wilkes-Barre.

It happened on West Market Street. The 12-inch pipe burst just before 4 in the morning, and crews worked all day trying to repair it.

“It’s shaking our whole building, when they’re doing what they’re doing out there,” said Lynn Dobrowolski of Kingston.

Crews closed part of west market to rip apart the road and try to find the source of the break, affecting nearby businesses. The damage left Sartorio and Sons barber shop on west market street without water.

“So there’s no shaves today, no hot towels, no washing the hair. So there’s a lot of things we have to tell our customers before we start we’re not doing. So, we’re gonna have to make do. And of course, no toilets,” said Peter Sartorio of Sartorio.

“When I came in, my son, he said don’t go to the bathroom. I said why? I didn’t even know why, I said what the hell did you want me to do, go in the sink?” said Frank Sartorio.

The pipe is now fixed.
