OLD FORGE -- It was a birthday party 101 years in the making.
Sue Burtie celebrated her 101st birthday Thursday night at Arcaro and Genell restaurant in Old Forge.
Her actual birthday was the August 18.
The bash was attended by family, friends, and a nosy news crew--or as the birthday gal called her guests, "Bologna throwers."
"It's a surprise and I'm so happy Channel 16 is--but I didn't want anybody to come. But here we are. I don't know what else to say," Burtie said. "I am so happy that they (her friends) are all here, but I think they're all here. But I think, can I say this? I think they're all bologna throwers."
August 18 was declared Sue Burtie Day in Old Forge by the borough's mayor.
