PITTSTON -- A new location for a celebration of pride in Luzerne County, but with the same strong message about acceptance and love.
Newswatch 16 stopped by Pridefest in Pittston.
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Rainbow Alliance holds the event every year, but they recently moved from Wilkes-Barre to Pittston.
It's all because Pittston has a law on the books protecting lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders from discrimination.
PrideFest featured lots of music and folks say they like being part of an event that supports their way of life.
"People in our community for too long have felt undesirables and society forgot about it, and we need to come together every once in a while and remember we're just like everybody else," said T.J. Belt of Dallas.
There was food, wedding vendors, and other organizations on hand for PrideFest in Luzerne County.
