KIDDER TOWNSHIP -- A Girl Scout camp in the Poconos is taking girls to new heights this summer.

Step by very careful step, girl scouts navigated through ropes and obstacles, taking adventure to a higher level at Camp Mosey Wood in Lake Harmony.

"It's really fun and there are, like, challenging parts and parts you can have a lot of fun on," said Girl Scout Ellen Lehman.

The ropes course is brand new at the camp in Carbon County. Some say it's even more challenging than it looks.

"You can get tangled and it's really a struggle to get it back," said scout Parker Stinson.

The ropes course is drumming up lots of excitement. Even the national CEO came to strap on a harness and give it a go.

"We have a visit by our national CEO which is a very big deal, and our attendance has increased by 30 percent, so the word is out," said Natalye Paquin, CEO, Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania.

The girls say the best part about making it through these three levels of challenging ropes courses is getting to zip line for their reward.

"I love this!" said Anna Maria Chávez, CEO of Girl Scouts U.S.A. "It's hard work and you see girls as young as 10 years old do these rope lines and go across the river on zip lines. It shows you what is possible."

Campers say the course is also teaching them how to work hard to reach their goals.

"It's frustrating but it's like really fun when you are done because you know you accomplished something and there's some girls that can't do it," said scout Zoe Moosbrugger.

"Sometimes you succeed and sometimes you fail, and if you fail, it's OK, you've taken a calculated risk and the next time you do it better," said Paquin.

It's an adventure hundreds of campers have enjoyed already.
