DALLAS -- For the last six years, ESPN The Magazine has celebrated the bodies of some of most elite athletes in the world, through an annual The Body Issue. This year it features an athlete plucked straight from Luzerne County, Paige Selenski.

Selenski is a former Dallas High School star field hockey player who sported the number 10 on her jersey when she played for the school a few years back.

After graduating from Dallas in 2008, she joined the athletic elite when she played for Team USA in the 2012 Olympics.

Many in the Back Mountain said her success is a source of pride for the area.

"Just to see that field hockey has taken her that far and now that she is on The Body Issue, big kudos go out to her," said Steve Sherwood of Dallas.

"I don't think northeastern Pennsylvania gets enough credit for the people that we have in our stable. It's time that people sit up and take notice," said Bradford Hontz of Sweet Valley.

The field hockey star is certainly getting a lot of attention and now back in the spotlight, after she announced on twitter, "It was truly an honor to take part in this year's ESPN The Body Issue."

The Body Issue is an annual issue of ESPN Magazine that celebrates the athletic form.

The pictures show the Dallas native artistically baring it all.

"I never really saw The Body Issue, but that's something northeastern Pennsylvania ought to be proud of," said Tommie Crego of Tunkhannock.

ESPN The Magazine's 2015 Body Issue hits the stand on Friday.

Paige Selenski is among only 24 athletes chosen for the issue.
