SCRANTON -- Two health organizations got together to plant a community garden in Scranton.
One of the gardens is located at the Village Park Apartments along Townhouse Boulevard.
Scranton Primary Health and AmeriHealth Caritas Northeast paired together to plant a variety of fruits and vegetables.
Community gardens are a growing trend because locally-grown produce can provide more nutrition and is more affordable.
The organizations are planning to build more community gardens at Village Park Apartments by the end of the summer.
