MOOSIC -- We've seen a lot of rain so far throughout the month of June, but the work week started out just right for landscapers sprucing up yards in Glenmaura.

"Last week we worked in the rain and it rained on and off, wasn't heavy. As long as it's not lightning or downpour, we will try to work through it," said landscaper Brian McDonald.

Landscapers at McDonald's Green Thumb Landscaping say the rain hasn't hurt business but it hasn't made it easy. When the ground gets too wet, it makes it difficult to get some jobs done.

"Problem is today, for example, it rained yesterday, we were supposed to do a seeding job and it was all mud, so that's holding that job up," said McDonald.

In Scranton, landscapers from Green Scene LLC were also hard at work. People working on Columbia Street ran into the same wet problems, but the work goes on.

"It impedes us when we are putting soil out but other than that, when we are doing shrubbery and stuff like that, clean ups, we just keep working in the rain. It gets a little difficult but we manage to get through it," said landscaper David Swoyer.

While the excessive rain might be a burden for some, it's actually welcomed by people who run the green house at Jerry's For All Seasons because they say the natural rain will make the flowers brighter and the plants grow better.

Wendy Smith is the green house manager and says the more rain, the better especially for trees, shrubs, and potted plants.

"It's really a good thing because when you get a lot of moisture and rain people have to water less and it's good for the gardens."

Smith says the added moisture in the air can create fungus problems for plants. if you come across this issue you can buy antifungal sprays to fix the problem.
