KIDDER TOWNSHIP -- The tents are in place and the food and wine vendors are getting set for the 25th annual Pennsylvania Food and Wine Festival at Split Rock Resort.

Organizers say they're busy planning extra special additions for the celebration.

"This year we're doing a lot of giveaways which we haven't really done in the past which include giveaways for next year's festival," said catering manager Alisha Kallatch.

Franklin Hill Vineyards is one of the more than 30 wine vendors that will be offering tastings all weekend at Lake Harmony with plenty of wine varieties.

"Drink what you like! We try to ask them what they like to taste and then drink what you want," said Franklin Hill's Scott Sandt.

Among some of their popular sellers: wines called Desire and Passion. These brightly colored bottles are all different fruit flavors.

"A lot of the crowd is a younger crowd and they like that fun, fruitier taste."

About 20 food vendors will be serving up tasty treats, too, and the resort plans to cook up wings.

"We'll offer different wings and then we're also giving a prize for the person who eats the hottest wings this year."

With so many food and wine options to enjoy this weekend, for a big anniversary organizers and vendors are hoping Mother Nature comes through in a big way.

"We are hoping that they focus on the 25th anniversary and not on the potential for weather."

The Winery at Wilcox traveled from Elk County in western Pennsylvania. Its staff brought 200 cases of wine and is hoping for the best.

"You get 10,000 people over the weekend so you can sell quite a bit of wine, and get your name out there," said Jamie Williams, The Winery at Wilcox.

The food and wine festival at Split Rock runs from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
