EDWARDSVILLE -- There was a tasty challenge for a Newswatch 16 anchor in Luzerne County.

Our own Tom Williams served on a crack panel of pierogi tasters judging a cook off at the Edwardsville Pierogi Festival.

The event took place at Konefal's Restaurant on Main Street. There were pierogies from vendors, home cooks and a church.

Judges were looking for taste, appearance and overall impression.

Williams told Newswatch 16 he is all about the butter!

"How did I prepare? You know I have been carb loading all week. I am ready to go. I am ready for some potatoes and cheese infused together," said Tom.

Besides pierogies, there were also categories for piggies, welsh cookies, and a true Edwardsville delicacy, rozy cozy burgers.
