Former Teacher Sentenced for Sexting

TUNKHANNOCK -- A former teacher who pleaded guilty to corruption of minors charges was sentenced Wednesday morning in Wyoming County court.

A judge sentenced Michael Chase of Dalton to 30 days to 18 months in jail.

Chase pleaded guilty in March.

The former Tunkhannock Area High School history teacher was sending sexual text messages to a female student over a two-year period.

    This is a sick shame. I was a student of his. We all loved his class…but I seriously can’t say I’m shocked.

    Tunkhannock seems to be a haven for criminals in their school system. WTH, the principal of 2 elem. schools can get 2 DUI’s and keep his job, why not ? There is so much going on that we don’t know as well, cover ups everywhere
