MUNCY TOWNSHIP -- A dental practice in central Pennsylvania gave back to the community on Friday.

Folks woke up early to get a good place in line outside Apple Dentistry near Muncy.

Richard Shultis said, "I'm very surprised by the turnout. I'm very glad they have a good turnout."

This trip to the dentist is completely free for him.

It's part of a free event called "Dentistry from the Heart."

Once every year, Dr. Larry Leggieri and Dr. Malloy, from Lewisburg, team up with their staff to provide free teeth cleanings, extractions and cavity fillings to anyone over 18.

"I think it's something that we need to do to give back to others who are less fortunate," said Dr. Leggieri.

There is no insurance needed. That's good news for Shultis.

He add, "I wouldn't be getting it done plain and simple."

On a regular day, the office will have about 30 appointments. During this event, they plan to see more than double that amount of patients.

"I don't have money to do it every six months. I haven't been to the dentist in almost two years," said Samantha Wolfe from Milton.

Wolfe was candid with us. She needs some dental work, but doesn't have insurance.

"It's free and I'm broke so it's just worked out," she added.

Even though some like Shultis say they are nervous, for them this free dental work once a year keeps them smiling.

"Hopefully this will be good though, hopefully, hopefully," said Shultis.
