WILKES-BARRE -- A vigil was held Saturday night for a shooting victim in Wilkes-Barre.

Folks gathered on Public Square to remember Tyler Winstead, 14, who died after a shooting in the city in 2012.

People wrote names on balloons as part of Saturday's remembrance.

His grandmother organized the vigil to mark the three year anniversary of his death.

"Just trying to get the community to come together, and you know there's a change that really needs to be made here in the City of Wilkes-Barre," said Carol Golden, Wilkes-Barre. "So we're hoping that this will be a wake up call."

It was originally reported that Winstead was killed in a drive-by shooting but it later came out that he was shot by a teenage neighbor playing with a gun.
