WILKES-BARRE -- People gathered to observe Palm Sunday in downtown Wilkes-Barre.
Members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church walked through the downtown passing out palms and saying prayers while kids from the Sunday school rode a miniature horse to commemorate Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem.
"It's a nice reception by the neighborhood, not in terms of numbers, but those we meet are very much encouraging and stop to pay respects and encourage that proclamation," said Rev. Peter Kuritz.
The procession began at Good Shepherd and continued down South Main Street to Northampton Street, then down Washington Street to Ross Street before returning to the church.
