STROUD TOWNSHIP -- A dump truck hauling rocks, bricks, and dirt rolled onto its side on the ramp from Interstate 80 to Route 209 near Stroudsburg around 5:30 p.m. Monday.
State police said debris from the truck spilled onto the road. Some of the falling debris hit some vehicles on the interstate below.
The windshield of a passing tractor trailer was smashed by either a rock or a brick, according to troopers. That driver was hit in the face by some broken glass and was taken to Pocono Medical Center.
The driver of the dump truck said he lost control of the truck going around the bend.
According to state police, the driver was going too fast and was cited.
The driver of the dump truck was not hurt, troopers said.
The ramp was closed while crews cleaned up the mess.
