HAZLETON -- Law enforcement in Luzerne County made a very large donation to a community center in Hazleton Thursday.

They donated a 92-inch television they confiscated in a drug raid.

The giant TV now has a new home at the Hazleton One Community Center along East 4th Street.

Chicago Cubs manager and Hazleton native Joe Maddon was a major force in getting the center up and running.

Children who use the center were thrilled with the donation.

“It’s very nice to get the TV. They’re treating us like they’re like our parents,” said Miguel Ramirez.

“Watch movies. Have fun with it. Watch the first baseball game of the Cubs,” said Ana Portorreal.

Officials say ESPN plans to have a camera crew at the center on the Cubs' opening night, Sunday, April 5.

Joe Maddon's mother, "Beanie," will throw out a first pitch at the center, which will be broadcast across the country.
