BRIAR CREEK TOWNSHIP -- An autopsy on the toddler girl who died in a car crash in Columbia County reveals she died from serious head injuries.

It is still not known if her death had anything to do with whether she was properly secured in a car seat.

The coroner says Emma Niznek, age 19 months, died Tuesday when an SUV driven by her grandmother hit a utility pole on Martzille Road near Berwick.

Authorities say the toddler was thrown from the vehicle.

So sad, breaks my heart to see this. Usually… you are not properly strapped in…when you are thrown from a vehicle.
