TAYLOR -- SERVPRO of Carbondale, Clarks Summit, and Old Forge is busy.

"We are working 24/7. You can tell by looking at us that some of us haven't slept that much in the last two weeks, but it is good. It's what we're here for and we're answering every call we can," said owner Kevin Wentling.

Four SERVPRO crews, about 20 people, are working around the clock.

In all, they said they are getting called to about 20 business and homes a day throughout Lackawanna County and there is a waiting list.

They said they have never seen things this bad.

"The damage is extensive. Especially if it happens on the third floor and it goes down through walls, carpets, ceilings," said Wentling.

"When we get there we can at least assure them that the process has begun to get back to normal."

It is the same for others in the cleanup and restoration.

The frigid winter means a lot of work, but there are ways to prevent water pipes from bursting.

"If your pipes are frozen, use a blow dryer or heat tape. Please do not use a blow torch because that's how you cause fires and we see that more and more which is an unfortunate situation. Leave your water dripping. Don't let your house get under 55 degrees when you're not home," said Nick Burruano of SERVPRO.

Broken water pipes may be good for business, but like everyone else, the workers at SERVPRO in Lackawanna County said they are looking forward to a break in the weather.

"Trust me, we've had enough and we look forward to spring to get back to normal," said Burruano.
