DUNMORE — PennDOT has temporarily lowered the speed limit on major roadways in northeastern and central Pennsylvania, due to the winter weather on Saturday.

Speed limits have been reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:

  • Interstate 80
  • Interstate 81
  • Interstate 84
  • Interstate 380
  • PA 33 in Monroe and Northampton Counties

PennDOT recommended drivers avoid unnecessary travel. Anyone who does have to drive is asked to allow plenty of space when driving near a plow truck. PennDOT said drivers should not attempt to pass a plow truck while it is plowing or spreading materials due to safety concerns.
