SCRANTON -- If a polar plunge wasn't enough winter fun, there was a chilly run in Scranton on Saturday.

More than 100 runners braved the cold for "Shiver by the River."

This was the final race of the three part series along the Scranton Heritage Trail.

Runners could choose among a 10k, 5k, or a two mile walk.

Folks there said the weather could have been a lot worse.

"It's not as bad as it could be, the wind stayed down for us so it's making it kind of easy. They seem to be doing alright," said Justin Sandy, Dunmore.

The Scranton Running Company hosted the event and some of the money raised will go to a family that adopted three children with disabilities in Lackawanna County.
