BARRETT TOWNSHIP – There is chocolate just about everywhere you look in Callie's Candy Kitchen. The sweet treat shop near Canadensis has plenty of the delicious chocolates ready for this Valentine's Day.

"We're ready. We've got your chocolate-covered strawberries, cream cheese, grapes, all your loved one's favorites, so please don't forget the day," said Gretchen Callie Reisenwitz of Callie's Candy Kitchen.

The family-run business says they're expecting a big crowd with a Saturday holiday and decent weather, but some of their regular customers made the drive all the way from the Lehigh Valley a few days early.

"Because you can't get better candy anywhere and it's family. You know it goes back to the 50s," said Dwayne Ninno of Pen Argyl.

Callie's original founders Harry and Carol were married for more than 60 years. Their love is on display around the store this Valentine's week for customers to remember.

"They got married the day after Valentine's Day because, you know, it's a working holiday so they got married when they were 20, so we have their pictures up and around," said Callie Reisenwitz.

From chocolate-covered Twinkies to pretzels, bacon, Swedish fish, and even gummy bears, there's something covered in chocolate for simply everyone at Callie's Candy Kitchen.

"I like the bass crackers. We call them lady fingers, they don't last too long," said Roxanne Ninno of Pen Argyl.

One family stopped in from Connecticut, impressed with the selection and the hospitality.

"There's so much history to this place and it makes it even more fun to come here," said Katie Baumgarten of Connecticut.

Of course everyone has their favorite sweets at this Pocono shop. But they say by far, the chocolate-covered strawberries will be the best seller for sweethearts.

Callie's is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day in the Poconos.
