UPDATE: Name Released in Deadly Snowmobile Crash

CLIFFORD TOWNSHIP — We now have the name of the person involved in a deadly snowmobile crash in Susquehanna County.

Police said Brian Sheare, 31, of Clifford Township, was traveling with a friend along the old O & W tracks off of Route 171 near Union Dale just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday, when the snowmobile he was on lost control and collided with a tree.

Sheare died from his injuries.

No word on the other person’s name or condition.

    I don’t understand nor do I appreciate the negativity or assumptions. Where is alcohol even mentioned in this article? It was a very snowy night and there are a lot of scenarios that could have happened. Please have some compassion. This man was an amazing friend, son, brother, grandson..before you try to be funny by leaving a negative comment, there are people grieving for this man that could be reading this..

      Coming from some one who loves to ride; anyone who sees the groomer go out roughly an hour before this had happen would want to be the first on the trails…..I’ve waited many nights to see the groomer go by at midnight and then go ride. For anyone who is into riding will tell you there is nothing better than being on a freshly groomed trail…
