HANOVER TOWNSHIP -- Flames sent two people to the hospital and ruined a home in Luzerne County.

Fire hit a double block home on E. Main Street in Hanover Township near Wilkes-Barre around 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Authorities said five people were in one side of the home, and the other side was vacant.

Two people had to be treated for breathing in too much smoke, according to officials.

Firefighters believe the flames started in the kitchen, but the exact cause is under investigation.
