TANNERSVILLE -- All Monroe County public school students and many others across northeastern and central Pennsylvania found themselves with another snow day on their hands, but not much snow on the roads to keep them inside.
We found lots of them hitting the slopes at Camelback, taking advantage of some fresh snow, and another day off.
Snow concerns kept many students out of school and two girls from North Pocono High School decided to take advantage of the day off.
"I was so excited because we had these plans since last night and we were like praying that we didn't have school," said junior Bobbi Bailey.
Instead of opening up their books, they're strapping on a snowboard and a pair of skis, ready to take Camelback Mountain.
Sophomore Hanna Bray says the drive from Gouldsboro wasn't bad at all.
"We probably could've had school, but a day every now and then doesn't kill you."
One dad brought his son to the mountain instead of going to Resica Elementary, a snow day and birthday combined!
"I think if they would have waited until the morning and seen how everything would have turned out, they probably would have had school because it really turned into nothing."
Brodie, age 7, is enjoying his birthday in the snow.
"I was thinking that I was going to go to the terrain park all day."
Students say the best part about a snow day on the mountain is all of the fresh powder.
Bobbi Bailey is tackling these slopes for the first time.
"Just seeing how it is out there, because I've never been here."
Her friend Hannah knows from experience, hitting the slopes after a natural snowfall is ideal.
"You can really carve, I guess. I grew up in Colorado so you're used to all of those fresh edges and the snow. Stopping and having it blow up in your face, it's awesome."
It's probably a safe bet for students in the Poconos that tomorrow it's back to the books.
