Homeless Man Led Police on Chase After Alleged Robbery

WILKES-BARRE — Police took a homeless man into custody after an alleged armed robbery in Luzerne County.

Authorities said Matthew Vantine, 27, led them on a chase after he allegedly robbed the Turkey Hill on N. Pennsylvania Avenue in Wilkes-Barre just before 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to police, Vantine was violent and fought with officers while being taken into custody.

Vantine is charged with robbery, aggravated assault and other related charges.
