BLAKELY -- A borough building in Lackawanna County is getting a facelift.
The Blakely borough manager says crews are working on a new pitched roof for the building because the flat roof caused leaks.
Part of the project will also include installing bulletproof glass in the front of the building.
Folks say this is necessary following the shootings at the Ross Township building and at PSP Blooming Grove.
"I mean there's a lot of crime everywhere today, even in our small towns that people don't even hear about, and I do believe is a safety factor. Absolutely," said Valerie Johnson of Peckville.
Officials say the project is expected to cost $150,000 and should be done in about two months.
