CARBONDALE -- A state police fire marshal is looking for the cause of an early morning house fire in Lackawanna County.

The house on Sand Street in Carbondale went up in flames just before 5 a.m. Saturday.

According to firefighters, a family lived in one side of the double-block home, but the other side was vacant.

No one was hurt in the fire, but officials said the home is a total loss.

The Red Cross is helping that family after the fire.
