WILKES-BARRE -- It was a team effort between some high school students and a church leader to help others in Wilkes-Barre.

Bishop Joseph Bambera joined more than a dozen students from Holy Redeemer High School at St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen Saturday where they volunteered their time to serve up a hot meal to those in need.

The students even had special shirts made up for the day that tell others about their mission.

"Go forward, be of courage, and make a noise. Make a noise for good. Make a difference for good and that's why I'm here with the students. So proud to be with these students. Be with them as they serve, as they put their faith into action, as they make a difference in the community," Bishop Bambera said.

Most of the students who helped out are seniors from Holy Redeemer's leadership council.
