DICKSON CITY — Another day and another drop in gas prices. It’s a welcome trend for many consumers this holiday season.
Triple A said the price has dropped nearly two cents since Tuesday, bringing the national average to about $2.52 for a gallon of regular.
It’s still a little more expensive around NEPA.
The average in the Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Hazleton area is at $2.72 a gallon, according to Triple A.
However, Newswatch 16 did find it for $2.63 at Sheetz on business Route 6 in Dickson City.
Money experts said stepped up US oil production along with economic slowdowns overseas are causing the price to drop.
Some even say NEPA could see prices under $2.00 a gallon next year.
Drivers in 14 states are already paying that much.
