WILKES-BARRE -- Luzerne County Council took a step at a meeting Tuesday night that could lead to the redevelopment of the land where the Sterling Hotel once stood at the corner of Market and River streets in Wilkes-Barre.
The council has approved a plan take the property from CityVest, the non-profit group that owned the deed to the property.
Council hopes to work out an agreement to develop the land with the city of Wilkes-Barre.
