The Mid-Atlantic Wrestling team practices at Rock Solid Wrestling in Luzerne. Kids from the Lehigh valley, Columbia, Bradford, and Luzerne counties have been traveling here for a few weeks all for a chance to wrestle in Orlando Florida at the Disney World Duals.

"Our team we probably have 11 or 12 of our 14 guys have been state place winners so it's a real strong team, but it is exciting to go to Disney," said Jack Davis.

Todd Lane and his brother Kent travel up to Luzerne County from Catawissa. As a freshman Todd was the state runner-up at 120 lbs for Southern Columbia losing 3-1 in the finals. Kent also lost his state final match 8-1 at 138 lbs. Both are excited to be on the blue all-star team.

"Every kid I wrestle I plan on getting better. Just another experience for me and yes just plan on getting better from this," said Todd Lane.

"It's been really nice having all the college coaches come in. I mean we had guys from all over Cornell, American, Lehigh, Bucknell and they basically all have the same kind of stuff just different spins on it. Basic stuff is what their teaching. Just little tricks-tips mental usually that sticks with you," said Kent Lane.

The Disney world duals is a culmination of the MAWA season. Come July 1st that's when the college recruiting amps up and schools can start offering scholarships to some or all of these wrestlers.

"We've had college coaches come in here everyday. So not only are they gaining some more experience and some knowledge and getting better, but their also showing off themselves and hopefully their going to help themselves down the road when these schools are going to try to recruit them. July 1st comes around their going to come knocking at the door," again said Jack.

Derek Dragon's senior season is coming up in the fall at Lake Lehman. Being on the red development team is earning him many new opportunities.

"Oh! It's real good rolling around with all these great wrestlers in here. It's got to make you better you know AAA place winners everywhere you look so," said Derek Dragon.

For many elite wrestlers the sport is now year round, and Fargo Nationals takes place at the end of July.
