PROMPTON -- It was a chance to try kayaking or paddleboarding at Prompton State Park for the annual Pedal and Paddle Festival in Wayne County.
The Friends of Prompton State Park held the event with local companies who provide free demonstrations for the public.
There were bike shops and a local marina as well.
Organizers said it's important to remember what kind of recreation spot the park is and, it's right in their backyard.
"We leave here to go hiking, here to go biking, to go on the Delaware, it's all right here, it's Honesdale's state park, Waymart's state park, it's Wayne County's state park," said Luke Turano, Friends of Prompton State Park
The Pedal and Paddle Festival continues tomorrow at the state park near Honesdale.
There's an 18 hole disc golf course, 23 miles of trails, and a big lake to enjoy in Wayne County.
