DICKSON CITY -- The American Legion in Dickson City organized a motorcycle ride for the families of veterans who were killed while fighting for their country.

The poker run took off from the Eagle Hose Fire Company and headed to Waymart.

Local vets said they are grateful for all the support.

"We've been very fortunate, not only with the riders, but with the post, the sons, the ladies' auxiliary, the community has been so generous and only with the help from people can we continue to do the good that we do," said Richard Craig, a U.S. Navy Veteran.

The money raised at the ride goes to a scholarship for children of veterans that have died.
