STROUDSBURG -- The first NASCAR race of the season in our area is scheduled for Sunday, and people were celebrating in downtown Stroudsburg.

Several blocks of Main Street were closed for all sorts of amusement rides and vendors. This is the sixth year for the festival in the Poconos.

There was live music, and people who came down for the festivities said it's a great way to spend the day before the race.

"Usually you don't get to walk Main Street, usually it's driving down Main Street. We like all the attention our town gets. We're huge NASCAR fans, great to have all of NASCAR nation coming down here and spending time in Stroudsburg, it's great," said Jason Phillips of East Stroudsburg.

The Pocono Raceway Festival wrapped up around 6 o'clock Saturday evening.

You know how the name NAScar originated. A bunch of Rednecks were showing off their cars and if a car looked nice they’d say “That’s a NAS car.”
