Day 2: Track & Field State Championships

It was a great day at the PIAA State Track and Field Championships, this Saturday at Shippensburg University. Lakeland's Cassidy Jenkins finished 3rd in the AA Girls 100M Hurdles, with a time of 14.68 seconds, while Bloomsburg's Britni Phillips finished 5th. In the AA Girls 4x800M Relay, the Lewisburg girls team came in 3rd place! In AAA Girls 3200M, Regan Rom of Dallas finished 2nd, while Paige Stoner of Pottsville came in 3rd. In the AA Girls 100M, it was Central Columbia's Ellen Shepard finishing in 2nd. Britni Phillips finished with the gold medal in the triple jump, with a jump of 37 feet, 7 inches! The AA 4x100 girls relay was won by Central Columbia in 48.15 seconds. and in the AAA 100M girls hurdles, it was Stroudsburg's Aspen Gaita finishing in 3rd.

In the Boys AA 110M Hurdles, Palmerton's Austin Shupp took the gold! Then in the AA Boys 100M it was the freshman from Bloomsburg, Jahvel Hemphill winning the state title with a time of 10.8 seconds! East Stroudsburg South's Demetrius Lanier, took gold in the AAA 100M, and took second in the AAA 200m! In the AA 3200M run, Dominic Hockenbury of Lake-Lehman crushed the competition by winning gold in 9 minutes, 17 seconds!
