UPDATE: Police ID Suspect in Shooting of Cabbie

WILLIAMSPORT -- Police in Williamsport say they plan to charge a suspect in the shooting of a cab driver.

A news release from police said the suspect is expected to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.

Eugene Phillips was shot on the morning of Thursday, May 15, as he sat in his cab in the area of Elmira Street and Glenwood Avenue in Williamsport. Phillips was taken to the hospital and is still listed in critical condition.

Williamsport police have, so far, not released the name of the suspect. But, they say he has been locked up in Lycoming County for several days on other charges.
