WILKES-BARRE -- A couple wanted in connection with a shooting in Wilkes-Barre has been picked up in New Jersey.

Authorities confirmed Thursday morning that Tony and Treasa Ransome are in custody.

Wilkes-Barre police issued warrants for their arrest after a shooting on Hutson Street in the city on May 15.

Police say that Tony Ransome shot Josue Vargas several times after Vargas argued with Ransome's wife, Treasa.

Tony Ransome is a convicted felon who is not allowed to have guns.

According to police, the dispute started when Vargas was removing a child from a parked car and he yelled at Treasa Ransome to slow down as she drove by.

Vargas was taken to the hospital and has since been released.

There's no word when Tony and Treasa Ransome will be brought back to Luzerne County from New Jersey to face charges of aggravated assault.
