MIDDLEBURG -- A homicide case in Snyder County came to a close today when Jennifer Snook was sentenced for her role in the death of her husband's grandmother. Snook will spend between five and 15 years in state prison.

Jennifer Snook was led into the Snyder County Courthouse to be sentenced for her role in the stabbing death of her husband's grandmother.

Authorities say Snook and her husband Joshua went to his grandparents' house near Middleburg in February of 2013 to get a gun to kill another man. Instead, Joshua stabbed both of his grandparents, killing 71-year-old Bonnie Snook.

In March, Joshua Snook pleaded guilty to third degree murder. He was sentenced to 20 to 60 years in state prison.

"I love my husband very much and I know he's not a bad person," Jennifer Snook said.

Jennifer Snook pleaded no contest to third degree murder, which means she can be sentenced as if she pleaded guilty. A Snyder County judge sentenced her to five to 15 years in state prison for her role in Bonnie Snook's death.

Just before she was sentenced, Snook said, "My sorrow and pain goes deeper than words. Josh and I made bad choices but we are not bad people."

Snyder County District Attorney Mike Piecuch told the judge, "She may not have had a gun or a knife in her hand that night, but she played a role in this tragedy."

Jennifer Snook cried in the courtroom and apologized to the Snook family several times.

"Is there anything you want to say? I know the Snook family will be watching this. That I do love them. I know you said you were very sorry. I am very sorry and I would take it back if I could," Snook said.

In addition to sentencing Jennifer Snook to spend up to 15 years in state prison, the judge said she must pay restitution to the Snook family and do 100 hours of community service.
