HAWLEY -- A man was taken to the hospital for injuries he received while trying to escape his burning home in Wayne County.
It happened around 4:30 Monday afternoon along Church Street in Hawley.
Authorities said the man needed stitches after punching out a window to save himself and his son from the flames.
Firefighters believe the blaze is accidental and started in the back of the home.
A state police fire marshal is expected on scene Tuesday to continue the fire investigation.
